A solid buy that works extremely well

Attractive unit. Even at the quiet low fan speed the water bucket fills in only a few hours. This machine makes uncomfortable Florida summer living much much better. Without gallons of water floating around in the airstream, you can turn the thermostat up a couple degrees and get the same level of cooling.
When you pull out the water bucket at the bottom, it kicks the hard plastic fill tube in the locked up position. When you push the empty bucket back in it stops 2 inches from closing. You slap it back in which hits a little release cam, and the plastic pipe drops back down into the bucket. I don’t have a basement and there isn’t any convenient pkk k ace to pump the water to. All said, it’s a very good machine that was offered at a deep holiday discount.

Works great, but gives off a LOT of heat

This dehumidifier has been working great for us. We had a much older model that was costing us about $27/month in electricity to keep running so we are hopeful this one will be significantly less! It has pretty basic features and the instructional guide is VERY easy to understand. We don't have a floor drain so haven't been able to test that feature, but keep in mind that if you do drain to an external place it does need to be BELOW the hose level (can't go up into a sink or something). I'd say it makes about an average amount of noise and can be minimized by lowering the speed. I had it running for 4 hours and it filled about 1/4 of the bucket and reduced the moisture percentage by about 20% - the ONLY drawback is that it raised the room temperature by over 5 degrees celcius. The room is already quite warm to begin with, but this made it unbearably hot. You can feel the hot air blowing out as it's running. You would probably not have this problem in a basement - but definitely something to keep in mind.

Effective, Easy to Use, Fairly Large, Small Tank - See note on Tank

The controls on the dehumidifier are easy to use, the set point easy to adjust. There are three fan speeds, the highest setting is fairly loud, in fact the compressor is quieter than the fan. The dehumidifier has a feature where it will re-start after a power interruption with the programmed settings, that is a nice feature, especially if you are not there to reset it.
The reservoir is quite small for a dehumidifier of this capacity, I would recommend planning on using the drain feature, or getting the model with the pump.
As it arrived, I could not remove the reservoir / tank, the handle had flipped out and was catching on the dehumidifier, the solution is to open the drain door, push it down, then you can remove the reservoir. This is annoying and could have been eliminated by designing the reservoir so that the handle folds the opposite direction.
I would give this appliance a 7/10 rating, it misses the mark in some areas, but it does work well, so there is that.

Great product that has worked well.

The Vellgoo dehumidifier we purchased replaced an older one that broke down after a few years of use. We use it for our unfinished, 800sq for basement and it has done wonders for moisture and that damp smell that comes with it. It’s quiet and works very quickly, dropping humidity within an hour to the desired level of 50%. Also has smart/turbo features that increase efficiency. This was a good purchase we hope to use for years.

Great dehumidifier!

This is such a great dehumidifier! I like how compact it is but still holds a lot of moisture out of the air. We turned our basement into a game room and this dehumidifier works great for our space! I also love how it has an automatic shutoff when it gets full and tells you the humidity level on the digital readout. The bucket is easy to dump also.

Works great, good value for money and comfort

This dehumidifier works really well for its price and makes a big difference in comfort at home. I use it in a large basement, and it quickly removes extra moisture, keeping the air fresh and dry. The humidity control is smart and accurate, and the drain hose option makes it very convenient to use for long periods. It also helps the room feel warmer and more comfortable overall.

The only small issue is that it’s a bit noisy on high speed, especially at night. Still, it’s energy-efficient, easy to move, and great value for money.

It’s good.

Honestly? It’s great.
It’s a lil heavy, kinda warm, but for the price and a lil hit of electricity is sucks, blows, and drains better than any human holding a fan could.

Great value. After the water comes down it will make a sound and you can easy dump it no fuss or use the hose if that’s ur thing but it will leak and gush so make ur stick it deep in the pipe.

It’s got special settings so you can hit it and quit the maintenance. If it’s really working, it will make some noise but u can’t muffle it cause it needs to vent. Unlike most things it will keep the room ready for your comfort even late at night.

Removes musty odors from unused facilities and keeps the basement dry.

This unit is working wonderfully and I’m thankful for the slightly larger reservoir capacity

Stopped working after 10 months

Purchased a Vellgoo Dehumidifier 5000 from Amazon.com in 2025 and stopped working after 10 months. Fan will run but will not dehumidify, no water in the bucket. In addition, the manufacturer will not honor warranty if bought through third party vendors like Amazon.com. I do not recommend purchasing this product.
We have a Westinghouse Heavy Duty 25 Dehumidifier that was purchased in 1971 and after a half century still going strong. Vellgoo should obtain one of those dehumidifiers, take it apart and figure out how to actually make a product to be proud of.

One it’s hard to put the tank back in after you empty it

One it’s hard to put the tank back in after you empty it. It gets hung up inside up top two the regular garden hose drain doesn’t work great the hose doesn’t want to stay on and somehow it still fills the tank even though some comes through the hose.

Observed for only two days on a 5 foot crawl space

Observed for only two days on a 5 foot crawl space,, humidity from 92% down to 56%. So far so good.. wasn’t able to apply the warranty on this unit as the method to do so was confusing.. hopefully I will not need the warranty…. I’m trying but go go…. And so it goes……….
