Issue with E1 error, after a years working

When the unit is connected the unit is turning on by itself, and not allowing to press the buttons, making beeps sounds like crazy.

Works great, but gives off a LOT of heat

This dehumidifier has been working great for us. We had a much older model that was costing us about $27/month in electricity to keep running so we are hopeful this one will be significantly less! It has pretty basic features and the instructional guide is VERY easy to understand. We don't have a floor drain so haven't been able to test that feature, but keep in mind that if you do drain to an external place it does need to be BELOW the hose level (can't go up into a sink or something). I'd say it makes about an average amount of noise and can be minimized by lowering the speed. I had it running for 4 hours and it filled about 1/4 of the bucket and reduced the moisture percentage by about 20% - the ONLY drawback is that it raised the room temperature by over 5 degrees celcius. The room is already quite warm to begin with, but this made it unbearably hot. You can feel the hot air blowing out as it's running. You would probably not have this problem in a basement - but definitely something to keep in mind.

Effective, Easy to Use, Fairly Large, Small Tank - See note on Tank

The controls on the dehumidifier are easy to use, the set point easy to adjust. There are three fan speeds, the highest setting is fairly loud, in fact the compressor is quieter than the fan. The dehumidifier has a feature where it will re-start after a power interruption with the programmed settings, that is a nice feature, especially if you are not there to reset it.
The reservoir is quite small for a dehumidifier of this capacity, I would recommend planning on using the drain feature, or getting the model with the pump.
As it arrived, I could not remove the reservoir / tank, the handle had flipped out and was catching on the dehumidifier, the solution is to open the drain door, push it down, then you can remove the reservoir. This is annoying and could have been eliminated by designing the reservoir so that the handle folds the opposite direction.
I would give this appliance a 7/10 rating, it misses the mark in some areas, but it does work well, so there is that.

Great product that has worked well.

The Vellgoo dehumidifier we purchased replaced an older one that broke down after a few years of use. We use it for our unfinished, 800sq for basement and it has done wonders for moisture and that damp smell that comes with it. It’s quiet and works very quickly, dropping humidity within an hour to the desired level of 50%. Also has smart/turbo features that increase efficiency. This was a good purchase we hope to use for years.

Great dehumidifier!

This is such a great dehumidifier! I like how compact it is but still holds a lot of moisture out of the air. We turned our basement into a game room and this dehumidifier works great for our space! I also love how it has an automatic shutoff when it gets full and tells you the humidity level on the digital readout. The bucket is easy to dump also.

Works great, good value for money and comfort

This dehumidifier works really well for its price and makes a big difference in comfort at home. I use it in a large basement, and it quickly removes extra moisture, keeping the air fresh and dry. The humidity control is smart and accurate, and the drain hose option makes it very convenient to use for long periods. It also helps the room feel warmer and more comfortable overall.

The only small issue is that it’s a bit noisy on high speed, especially at night. Still, it’s energy-efficient, easy to move, and great value for money.

It’s good.

Honestly? It’s great.
It’s a lil heavy, kinda warm, but for the price and a lil hit of electricity is sucks, blows, and drains better than any human holding a fan could.

Great value. After the water comes down it will make a sound and you can easy dump it no fuss or use the hose if that’s ur thing but it will leak and gush so make ur stick it deep in the pipe.

It’s got special settings so you can hit it and quit the maintenance. If it’s really working, it will make some noise but u can’t muffle it cause it needs to vent. Unlike most things it will keep the room ready for your comfort even late at night.

Removes musty odors from unused facilities and keeps the basement dry.

Very Good quality and performance, but needs improvement in drain connection.

This 50 pint dehumidifier from Vellgoo has been operating for about 5 days so far. It is being used in a 900² ft. finished basement that tends to get quite humid during the summer months. This unit draws about 650 watts when running on the maximum setting which is about the same as the one it replaced. However, it pulls the humidity out of the air much better and can maintain a lower humidity level (45%) than my older one which struggled to keep it at 50%. This increased efficiency results in it cycling much less frequently and resulted in about a 30% savings in electrical consumption during my testing. It is quite amazing how efficient these new style compressors are. It also has very low surge current on start-up, so it may be suitable for use in situations where that could be an issue. The unit is also very quiet when on the lowest fan setting, but it's still loud enough that it would not be suitable for use in a bedroom in my opinion. I could barely hear the difference in sound level when the compressor kicked in.

This unit has an small, easily removable reservoir bucket with a nice handle and an optional drain connection on the side of the unit. I prefer to use the drain feature so I'm not constantly emptying the bucket. They supply a short (6.5'/2m) clear push-in hose, but if you need to go further you with have to attach a garden hose or find a way to extend it. This is where I ran into difficulties with this product. I tried to use a 2 different short garden hoses with fresh washers, but it was impossible to get it to stop leaking at the connection point. Luckily the reservoir catches the leaking water, but when it fills up the unit automatically shuts off and you have to empty the bucket manually. This is probably the only flaw I found with the unit. I really don't understand why they failed to design this connection point properly. My older one has a properly designed connection point (at the rear) that has never given me a problem in almost 10 years of use. I deducted a one star from my rating for this issue.

Overall, I think this is a good product that looks great and performs very well. I would recommend to those who will be using the reservoir bucket or the supplied push-in clear drain hose. I do not recommend it for those that will need to use a garden hose connection.

A big step up from my other dehumidifiers

I've used a few different dehumidifiers over the years. It's nice to see how the technology is improving.

Right out of the box, the first thing I noticed is how the whole machine has been designed; it's made so that maneuvering it around is simple. The front top handle and four bottom casters are a solid idea and greatly reduce the effort needed to transport it from room to room when necessary. I like the control panel; it's easy to get at and not in any way complicated to use, even without reading the manual. The manual could be better written. It is a little difficult to follow in some places and doesn't do a great job of explaining the modes of operation.
🚩 One noteworthy item. This has a timer built in. After running for a number of hours (8), it powers down and allows the system to cool for approximately 10 minutes. This helps extend the life of the whole unit.

The general functionality is the same as the other units I have used. The one big difference is how much quieter this unit is than the older versions. The refrigeration system here, being newer, does produce less noise while still doing an excellent job.

As with other options, there is the standard collection tub at the bottom and then a hose connection on its side. The tub is bigger than the others I mentioned above, and the hose connection is easier to adapt to. The included hose is plenty long enough, but in two areas of our basement, it wouldn't reach the drain, and I would prefer not to be emptying the tub. I was able to connect a standard 2-inch garden hose with an adapter and then run that to the central drain. How long it takes to fill the tub (about 6 litres) is wholly dependent on how much humidity is in the air. This does an excellent job of removing moisture; it acts quickly, but to give an accurate example of how long it takes to drop from one moisture level to another is very difficult as it's dependent on the area (volume of air it needs to deal with) it's working in.

As with any system, there is a mesh screen for catching dust and keeping it out of the radiator. This is quick and easy to remove and then vacuum or rinse if needed. It slips back in once clean and dry; no tools are required.

✔ One side effect of any refrigeration system is the creation of heat. This is no different than the others except that because the unit is more efficient, it creates less heat.

When I ordered it, the selling price was $269.99, which is very good when comparing it to the other units I have, including a couple of big brand-name options.

Not only is the performance and pricing better than previous dehumidifiers I've been using:
► This is designed a lot better.
► Easy to move
► Hook up a hose
► No complicated controls
► Has a built-in refrigeration overheat prevention system
► It's quieter than the others.
► Having the hose, power cable, and intake on the same side allows it to be positioned up against a wall at least on one side. This gets it out of the way.

Definitely 👍👍's up

Industrial Looking but Gets Job Done

Doesn't perform as well expected but it gets the job done. Best for basements. Room for improvement quality wise. Easy to operate.

+ energy Star rated = low energy consumption = $ saved.
+ includes drain hose
+ continuous drain so tank doesn't overflow
+ 2-year warranty if registered
+ 5-year compressor warranty
+ Lightweight and compact comparatively speaking
+ Easy to clean water bucket
+ Splash guard prevents spills when carrying tank
+ quiet at lower fan speeds
+ 6 ft power cord
+ Good instruction manual.

+/- build quality 'meh' and the panel looked particularly cheap and industrial

- dehumidification slower than expected
- fan annoying at high speeds
